Evangelical preacher and televangelist has warned Americans not to impeach Trump else the Christians will rise up and start a civil war and this he claims will be in accordance with Christian values and principles.
Jim Bakker has warned Americans to step back and not even think about impeachment of Trump.
“If it happens(impeachment), there will be a civil war in the United States of America. The Christians will finally come out of the shadows, because we are going to be shut up permanently if we’re not careful,” he said on “The Jim Bakker Show” in a clip highlighted by Right Wing Watch.
He also warned that Christians are in danger of losing their voice in American society.
“God says faith without works is dead. We have to do things, God has been standing with me, and I don’t know about you, it’s time for preachers like you, you’ve been doing it, to stand up and shout out,” Bakker told a pastor on the show.
Bakker said that a civil war would be justified because even the Bible says that if God’s people are attacked, they should rise up, fight and defend themselves. Jim Bakker believes that Trump is God’s chosen one and should anyone try to impeach or remove him from office, all Christians should rise up and wage a brutal fight and destroy Trump’s enemies.
Several House Democrats have signed on to a bill to impeach Trump.
Bakker has had several run-ins with the law and has in the past been convicted and jailed for a series of criminal convictions. The Evangelical preacher served nearly five years in prison for fraud and conspiracy connected to his original television program, “The PTL Club.” Mr Bakker also resigned from the ministry in 1987 after he was accused of rape by Jessica Hahn.
Trump and Pence are the beloved of the far right and Evangelical preachers and it is not surprising that Evangelical Christians are willing to start a civil war in defence of Trump.
The talks and threats of civil war are escalating as the far right and now Christians are threatening violence if Trump is legally impeached or removed from office.
Trump’s close friend and political advisor Roger Stone also spoke in an interview with TMZ and said that “there will be violence like never seen before in America should Trump get impeached.”
