Scandal and disappointment seem to be following Trump whenever he travels abroad but this is something that was unnecessary and could have been avoided.
Due to Trump’s unpopularity in Europe, the Communist Party in Poland arranged to bus in thousands of “Trump supporters” who would be paid to cheer Trump’s arrival, wave American flags and also wave huge portraits of Trump. There was a fear of Trump arriving to an empty stadium or worse making a speech to just a handful of people. But according to some supporters who went to Kransinski Square to support Trump, the payments have gone missing and they want Trump to “sort the mess out.”
This was a fear of what happened on Trump’s inauguration back in January when media experts claimed that Trump’s team had altered images and altered seating arrangements to make it look like Trump had a sizeable crowd. Different images were tweeted to defend or debunk the claims of the “huge crowds” that attended the inauguration.
The thousands who were bused in to support Trump say they need their money. One of the stranded supporters, Adam Kaminsky who spoke with our reporter on Skype said he was bused in with another big group from the City of Lublin. This is what he said: ” I’m totally disappointed. They said we will be paid immediately after the job was done. Yes we got sandwiches, bottled water, some apples and a free trip to Warsaw, but we were in this for the money and we want our payment.”
Asked how much money was promised, he said hundreds of dollars but when our reporter asked for the exact amount, he said they signed forms stating that they can not discuss the amount.
“We want our money, that’s all. We don’t want to cause any chaos or anything,” he said before adding that he knew many more who were stranded waiting for payment.
Another supporter, a friend of Mr Kaminsky who declined to give his name said he only received part of his payment and said he will stay in the Capital until he gets his full pay.
The “paid supporters” also had a confederate flag. See picture above.
An American Trump supporter living in Poland claims that he met many of the “paid Trump supporters” and they seemed totally happy with the arrangements so it’s likely they had been paid.
It is not the first time Trump is involved in accusations of failing to meet financial obligations. There are hundreds of law suits in the US from contractors who worked on his properties years ago and are still waiting for payment. Some small companies that worked for Trump went bankrupt after doing a lot of work for him but receiving no payment. The story is still developing and we will be contacting a few more supporters to find out what is happening. We have also made an arrangement to call Mr Kaminsky tomorrow to see if his payment has been cleared.
