A right wing Evangelical, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson has blamed former US President Barack Obama for the racial crisis in America and in a more provocative jab, lashed out at the Democratic Party for not doing anything good for the country for the past 50 years.”
Black Americans got worse under Barack Obama than any other time in the history of America,” said Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, author of “The Antidote: Healing America from the Poison of Hate, Blame and Victimhood,” during a July 3 appearance on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
“If it was a race issue, why didn’t it get better? We had a black president,” Peterson said. “The races were more divided as a result of Barack Obama because he used them for his own personal gain and didn’t care about them.”
While attacking Obama, the Evangelical preacher did not provide any solutions himself nor give any evidence for his accusations against former US President Obama. He also avoided talking about the racially sensitive Police shootings of black males that has quickly become an epidermic in the US, instead choosing to talk about the use of drugs and family break downs in black households.
On the Democratic Party, this is what he had to say about them:
“They have nothing to offer. They have nothing to stand on. So they’re desperate. They’re angry, and they’re desperate,” he said. “They’re really going after the president’s supporters. If they can turn the president’s supporters away from him, then they can destroy the president. So they’re using this phony idea of racism.
“Racism doesn’t exist. It has never existed. And it has always been a lie. Our issues in life are good or bad, right or wrong, good versus evil; it has nothing to do with color at all, and they know that.”
Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson’s statements and denial that racism never existed will likely cause controversy.
